Ni Hao Taiwan !!!

We are here. We made it. The three of us look and feel like we've all been drug through a knothole backwards. But we are here safe and mostly sound. It's almost midnight. Our guide Wen and her translator were at the airport waiting for us looking chipper and freshly pressed. When we rounded that corner coming out of baggage claim, Wen was jumping up and down for us. She was so excited to see Olivia and remembered so much about us from when we were here in 2008. She even remembered taking us to the store to buy a suitcase and which one it was. LOL Thankfully, Olivia had her last meltdown of the night (so far) while we were in the customs line, in front of the immigration officer, and not in front of Wen.

For those of our Taiwan/Chung Yi friends who know or who have had Rosa as a guide or a translator here, she could use your prayers. Wen told us she is very ill. So please keep her in your prayers.

Once our driver arrived, I told Olivia to come on, let's go in Mandarin. You should have seen and heard Wen go crazy with excitement. She made me feel like I won a lotto!! She was so excited and proud. Mind you, I'm not very good, but apparently it was adequate enough for Wen to understand me. YAY !! Brownie points for me!!!

We aren't checked into our hotel yet, still driving there. Even for so late, there is tons of traffic on the road. We can see Taipei 101 in the distance, so we are getting close. Shower, bed, crash......if Olivia cooperates, that is !!! Tomorrow we will post pictures.

Ai ni. Ziajian. Signing out for the night from Taiwan.

  1. I'm happy to hear that you all made it to Taiwan safe and sound. Hope you're able to get some rest before the big day.

I'm going to be in the same boat as you with the ipad. Last trip, we blogged from our netbook which we could download pictures. My friend took all of her blog pictures with her iphone and posted those to the ipad. Technology is useful but can be quite complicated!!

Excited to see pictures of Chung Yi and your daughter! Take care!
